My research project, “The Laughing Dove,” examines the role of satire in U.S. anti-war rhetoric during the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, and the Philippine-American War. I have published articles in PMLA, Leviathan, and the Encyclopedia of Contemporary Fiction.
I completed my Ph.D. in December of 2008. My committee at U.C. Irvine was chaired by Brook Thomas and included Steven Mailloux and Ann Van Sant.
I am currently working at National Tsing Hua University on a postdoctoral fellowship from the Taiwan National Science Council. I previously held research fellowships at the Huntington Library and Boston Athenaeum.
